In the case of closed courses, third-party material may continue to be used, as this is for the school's own use (Art. 19 para. 1 para. b URG). This no longer applies for a public course.
In courses open to the public, the copyright situation of the individual materials must be clarified first. A work is protected by copyright as soon as it is created. Copyrights are handled differently in every country. There are numerous ways to clear the rights:

For course administration and further development as well as for research purposes, if necessary, the usage data of the courses can be accessed. This data must be handled in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations. In particular, there must be a permissible reason for processing the data.
