What are PIN and PUK codes for?

With the PUK (Personal Unblocking Key), the SIM card can be unblocked and the PIN reactivated after entering an incorrect PIN three times. You received the PUK with the SIM card and the PIN. If you do not know your PUK, contact the Telephony section.
