Here you can find all information about the telephone system of the University of Zurich.
Sunrise is the fixed network provider for the University of Zurich.
From March 1, 2017, the university units will be charged CHF 10.00 and CHF 120.00 per year per fixed network connection. The costs consist of CHF 6.00 fixed costs for the connection and CHF 4.00 flat-rate fees.
Telephone connections in offices, laboratories and workshops have the STANDARD authorization, if you need the worldwide authorization for your work, please contact your telecom delegate.
The telecom delegate determines the dialing authorization in consultation with the cost center manager.
External connections from unauthorized connections (Switzerland and abroad) are only switched by 111 in emergencies!

With a few exceptions (timetable and flight information) the 0900... 0901... are blocked.
Please note that many services offered on 0900 numbers are also available free of charge on the Internet (e.g. SBB timetable, airport arrival times, etc.)
University members who are important and unavoidable for calls to value-added numbers 0900... or 0901... can, in exceptional cases, apply for authorisation for these numbers via the Telecom Delegates
Private use of the university telephone facilities for occasional, brief use is permitted. However, private calls must be kept to a minimum so that the lines remain free for professional matters.
Private telephone calls on the fixed network no longer have to be declared with an asterisk (*).
International calls made through the switchboard are also covered by this regulation, as they are also charged to the corresponding cost centre. A separate allocation to the employee is not possible.
