Transmission to Remote Participants

In this setup, the course or event is transmitted from a lecture hall or seminar room to remote participants, either via livestreaming or videoconference. The communication options for remote participants are limited. Livestreaming is often the best solution, as it is less complex and requires less effort in terms of preparation and implementation.

Livestreaming

The event is streamed via a website (e.g. OLAT for courses) with a fixed video layout. This layout consists of the presentation displayed on the projector and a small image from the room camera showing the speaker (notice that some rooms do not have a room camera.)

You can use the comment function for questions, feedback and answers. Please note that there is a delay of around 45 seconds.

Videoconference

Speakers use their own computer to transmit the course/event to the remote participants via Zoom or Teams.

  • Either the computer's camera or an external USB camera can be used (seeAV-Geräteverleih for rental of equipment). Permanently installed room cameras cannot be used.
  • The speakers use the wireless microphones as usual. The sound is connected to the computer via USB and then transmitted via Zoom or Teams.

Oral contributions of remote participants may lead to technical audio feedback. Therefore, we recommend using the chat function of Zoom or Teams.

The faculties are responsible for first-level support, which includes support in the lecture hall/seminar room during set-up, testing, and during the event.
