Installation of Intune Enterprise Portal (MDM)

To use Microsoft 365 UZH on your mobile device, please follow these installation instructions:

The installation of Microsoft 365 UZH on mobile devices consists of three parts:

  1. Installation of the Intune Enterprise Portal
  2. Login with your Microsoft 365 UZH account 
    (For App Management no management profile is needed, please cancel the installation after the login.)
  3. Installation / starting the corresponding Microsoft Apps

If you have not yet used Microsoft 365 UZH, please start by registering in a browser at https://portal.office.com (Help: Login to Microsoft 365 UZH).

Start installation

  1. Installation of the Intune Enterprise Portal
    The Intune Enterprise Portal app from Microsoft can be found in the App Store (iOS) or the Google Play Store (Android).
  2. Login with your Microsoft 365 UZH account 
    After installation you can log in with your Microsoft 365 UZH account. (Help: Log in to Microsoft 365 UZH). 
    For App Management no management profile is needed, please cancel the installation after the login. Detailed instructions including video can be found under the following links: iOS devices, Android devices. MacOS and Windows devices are not yet supported via MDM.
  3. Installation / starting the corresponding Microsoft Apps

    After successfully completing the above steps, you can now use all activated Microsoft Apps together with Microsoft 365 UZH. Available are OneDrive, OneNote, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and many more.

 

Problems with the installation?

  • Error during login:
    Please note the requirements for successful login (Help: Log in to Microsoft 365 UZH).
  • Error in the multi-factor registration:
    If an error was reported during multi-factor registration or you were interrupted, your multi-factor authentication settings must be reset.
  • Login ok, but error during installation of the profile:
    Known problems:
    • If you already have a management profile installed on your device (e.g. from your former employer), it must first be removed. A simultaneous installation of two different management profiles is not possible. Please note that App Management does not require a management profile.
  • Missing license:
    If you did not click on "Trust" when installing the profile, you must restart the device to be asked the "trust question" again.
  • Do I need to remove existing Microsoft Apps / Accounts?

    No, multiple Microsoft 365 accounts can live on your device in parallel. The Microsoft Apps then offer an additional option to change the account. When the Microsoft 365 UZH administration profile is deleted, only the Microsoft 365 UZH data is deleted.
